Flexible RAID configuration and target based virtualization.

InfoSlice subsystem can be configured with one or several independent RAID sets. Each set can have as little as 2 (for RAID 1 or 0) or 3 (for RAID 5) drives or as many drives as are installed in the InfoSlice. Each RAID set can be virtualized: it can be logically divided into any number of easily manageable partitions visible to clients as independent disks (LUNs). Disk space can be reallocated between those partitions (LUNs) on the fly (this feature requires OS support).

Multiple interface type support.

InfoSlice is the only storage subsystem which can be configured and reconfigured with different types of interfaces in one box. This means that bandwidth-hungry applications like Outlook or MS SQL can have access to their storage via fast dedicated Fibre Channel or SCSI and workstations can access their Word files over iSCSI from all over the office without additional cabling.

This capability also preserves your investment in storage: if you currently use direct-attached SCSI as a primary means of accessing storage, and will install Fibre Channel SAN later, you don't have to buy a new storage box. Any InfoSlice can be purchased or upgraded later with Fibre Channel interface.
