Flexibility | Reliability | Performance | User-friendly | Security Reliability of InfoSlice.Reliability is the cornerstone of storage subsystems. The InfoSlice array was designed with this in mind. Each model comes with hot-swappable disk drives and multiple redundant power supplies. Each unit shipped goes through a vigorous testing and burn-in process to eliminate unreliable disk drives and power supplies before they get shipped to the customer. Our customers experience practically no "infant mortality" of the disks we ship with the units. When configured with RAID levels 1, 10 and 5, InfoSlice have an option to configure a pool of hot-spare drives. If any of the disks in the redundant array fails, the hot-spare disk will immediately be used to restore full redundancy of the system. The ATA-based InfoSlice array takes advantage of the S.M.A.R.T. technology built into all modern ATA drives to detect impending drive failure before it occurs, and reconfigures the RAID arrays to use spare drive when one of the primary drives start to show signs of failure. All InfoSlice models have monitoring and notification service which can e-mail either the user or our technical support when drives fail or show signs of failure, so they can be replaced without putting your data at risk. InfoSlice arrays have two special features for critical installations:
